Agri-Pulse adds Lydia Johnson to DC team

WASHINGTON, DC (AgPR) | Agri-Pulse is pleased to announce that Lydia Johnson joined the Agri-Pulse team in Washington as a writer and broadcaster on June 1st.

“We first got to know Lydia when she interned for us two years ago and it was clear that she was not only talented but passionate about doing great work,” said Agri-Pulse Founder and Publisher Sara Wyant. “We are very excited to have her on board.”

Johnson recently graduated from Iowa State University where she studied Agricultural Communications, International Agriculture and Journalism, but she is no stranger to Capitol Hill. She previously interned for Agri-Pulse, Torrey Advisory Group, and the National Pork Producers Council. She recently completed a study abroad trip to Japan and Thailand to learn about trade and the pork industry.

Growing up on a Heritage farm in Bondurant, Iowa, Johnson explored several different clubs and extracurricular activities while at Iowa State, including CALS Council, Student Government, Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow, CALS Ambassadors, Agriculture Future of America, and the National Association of Farm Broadcasting. She also served as a broadcast intern three years at the National FFA Convention. Johnson was selected as the spring 2024 College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Convocation speaker.
