KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AgPR) | AGL Technology, an Atlanta-based animal AI and analytics company, has been accepted into Silicon Valley VC Plug and Play’s seventh accelerator as a part of their Agtech Program. That selection process started with several hundred worldwide applicants. The pool was narrowed to 50 candidates who were vetted by Plug and Play’s corporate partners. From those, a cohort of twelve was chosen to participate in the three-month program. The program aims to bring global innovation by facilitating opportunities for business development, capital investment, and pilots between startups and founding partners of the program, including Farm Credit Services of America and OCP North America. “We are excited for another great group of startups that will bring innovation across several segments of the ag industry.” said Mónica Homem, director of Plug and Play Agtech. “The breadth of Plug and Play’s corporate partner and mentor network is impressive.” said Marcel Sarzen, president and CEO of AGL Technology. “We look forward to making full use of this opportunity as we roll out our Precision Farming Intelligence Platform (PFIP)® starter program in the North American poultry market and pursue a capital raise.” “After just the opening orientation meeting, we realized how impactful Plug and Play’s AgTech program will be for the development of AGL Technology.” said Dr. Jackson McReynolds, R&D and Technical Director, Arm & Hammer Animal and Food Production. “We can’t wait to collaborate with the other leading Agtech start-ups and get fully involved in all the corporate partnering and fundraising opportunities provided by the Plug and Play ecosystem.” AGL Technology’s PFIP® service delivers expert-level animal health and operational eyes and ears for poultry production facilities through camera, microphone, and other IoT sensors. The product provides 24/7 insights into animal health, welfare, and other production metrics. The platform gives integrators fully automated dashboards and alerts through a customized mobile application, allowing vital production issues to be addressed in real-time. AGL Technology’s track record includes proof of concept in commercial conditions for turkeys, breeders, and layers across more than 35 poultry house grow-outs totaling more than 300,000 birds. AGL holds multiple patents and proprietary intellectual property using audio to analyze poultry health and welfare conditions. It has a multi-year partnership with A&H, both as an investor and through a commercial reseller agreement. AgSensor Solutions, a platform company designed to help sensor creators move to market more quickly in agriculture and animal health, is advising AGL with its capital raise and was instrumental in their acceptance into Plug and Play’s Agtech accelerator. “The AGL Technology team and product were an ideal fit for Plug and Play’s program” said Michael DeSa, founder of AGD and managing director of AgSensor Solutions. “The breadth of the AgSensor’s platform allows us to provide tailored solutions, whether those are in product development, market approaches, or, as with AGL Technology, in business development.”
